The UCSB Capital Internship Program (CIP) provides a unique, hands-on introduction to public service and professional life. The UC Washington Center (UCDC) and UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) are transformative experiences in the national and state capitals. These internships are a turning point for our students as the program offers a unique chance to grow, gain practical skills, and build a foundational network while gaining critical work experience.
Giving Opportunities
CIP is dedicated to providing professional experiences that shape students' futures. The cost of living and working in Washington, D.C. or Sacramento can be a significant financial barrier to students and their ability to participate.
Gifts directly support our scholars and ensure that the program is accessible to all qualified students, regardless of their financial background. Your donation provides support for scholarships, program enhancements, and professional development opportunities. Scholarships ensure incredible high-achieving, first-generation, and low-income students are able to participate in this life-changing opportunity.
CIP’s signature named scholarship program offers a highly personalized and meaningful way to invest in students' capital experience. Starting at $2,500 for UCDC and $1,000 for UCCS, you can create a scholarship in your name and hear directly from your scholarship recipient during their transformative journey. Gifts of Stock
Gifts of securities are tax deductible at their full market value of the stock, bond, or mutual fund on the date of the gift. Proceeds from the sale of these assets can be directed to support CIP.
Endowments
Endowments are the most lasting way you can give, helping to safeguard our program excellence and to ensure opportunity for future generations of students to gain valuable work experience in the national or state capital.
